How Effective is Training if you Don't Know Where You Are, or Where You're Headed?

We've all been there; determined that this is the time to push through to that next level of fitness. Sometimes we change our diets, sometimes we change our fitness routine, sometimes we try new products, new coaches, or new cycling routes. We pour our energy into it, giving ourselves a hundred percent believing if we just stick to it, it'll come. But often it simply does not. How are we to figure out why?

Most of us stick with what we know has been thoroughly researched.  Like the high-end performance tests elite athletes (think Lance Armstrong) get to clinically show exactly how well the body is performing, metabolic and biomechanical analysis, ventilatory threshold,  lactate and VO2max (maximum oxygen uptake) test results are compared over a period of time to scientifically determine exactly how well the body is responding to training. This allows for instant fine-tuning of your fitness routine, making the training immediately more effective. But there aren't many facilities offering testing and those that are can be quite expensive which has made this golden knowledge out of reach for the average person.  That is, until now.

Hakenya's "Mobile Human Performance Laboratory" has changed all of this, and leveled the playing field incredibly.  Truly groundbreaking, this first-of-its-kind mobile lab sets up on-site and feels like a medical clinic. Testing is quick, at an affordable rate and is accompanied by a wealth of information. Acting as a neutral party, Hakenya can grant results to you or your coach. Once you have this golden knowledge, you will know where your training has been lacking, and where your training should be going.

Their mobile lab will be at the Moab Century Tour and you are encouraged to visit. This unprecedented ability to access deep knowledge of your fitness abilities is well worth the affordable price. Return for another test at the Moab Skinny Tire Festival to see what you've accomplished over the winter or return next fall to the Moab Century Tour 2010 to compare your results after a solid year of training.

The Hakenya Mobile Human Performance Laboratory will be at the event venue Aarchway Inn Friday-Sunday September 18-20. To learn more contact  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
