Helping Adult Cancer Patients Enjoy Life Print E-mail
Colorado's Diana Price Fish Cancer Foundation was established in 1989 with the mission of helping adult cancer patients enjoy life. The organization is in its 19th year of providing adults dealing with cancer the opportunity to participate in social, cultural, and recreational activities throughout Colorado. By giving participants something to look forward to every month, as well as an opportunity to spend precious time with loved ones, participants are offered a "day off" from their cancer situation.

The organization has grown from serving 14 patients in the first year to arranging over 5,300 activities for more than 1,300 cancer patients in 2007; they remain the only organization of their kind in the United States. The average cost of service given to a participant is $50. Wow, what a difference a few dollars (when surrounded with love and the intention of joy) can mean to someone.

Editor's Note: Some of the Skinny Tire Events organizers attended the 2007 TEAM DPFCF ride through colorful Colorado. Here they are at the top of McClure Pass outside Carbondale, Colorado. The 2008 ride begins with the Moab Century Tour. To find out more, contact RAY URBAN at [ This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ].
