Last weekend we bicycled the Glenwood Springs bike path with our 16 year old son who somehow has reached 6'3", surpassing his Dad, and our soon to be 3 year old daughter.  Rounding a corner we saw cyclists pulled over and pointing to the cliff above.  Simultaneously rocks began to trickle down the slope landing a bit too close.  We pulled over ourselves and had a great view of big horn sheep frolicking 80 feet above.
"Reindeer" our daughter insisted, traversed a path far above setting off small rockslides.  Soon another couple pulled over and after surveying the big horn sheep damage ("no, reindeer!") commented they had attended the Skinny Tire Festival and wondered if we had (Mark was wearing his event jersey). Turns out it was Drew MacLeod.  We recognized the name.

Drew sent his first donation check for monies raised in September, six months prior to the event. A few weeks later another check arrived, an odd amount, with a note referencing "appointments" a week earlier. We're always inspired by the efforts riders make to raise even $1 and asked Drew about his fundraising formula.  "Ahh, it's simple", he replied, "I'm a massage therapist and many of my clients wanted to contribute toward the LAF cause".  Some gave checks and others emptied their pockets of coin and small bills into a collection jar that he later matched dollar for dollar.  The small amounts added up over time too.  Drew raised over $1400 qualifying for the private ride with celebrity guests. Thanks Drew.

We're 37 weeks away from next year's event.  Raising just $10/week would earn you a complimentary Event Jersey.
