Dead Horse Point State Park 58 or 44 miles.
Even if you've never been here, you've seen Dead Horse Point. Dozens of commercials and numerous movies profile this area. Thelma and Louise launched their T-bird off the cliff here, Mission Impossible 2 showed Tom Cruise (or his stunt double) dangling precipitously above deep redrock canyons. For riders, this is one of the “Festival Favorites”, with its breathtaking views, generous bike lane and almost no cars besides our support vehicles. The route will gradually gain 2,500 ft on the way up from town or 1,700 ft. from the junction of Highway 191 and 313. Like any good tour, the festival will wind up with a descent back to the start.
