65 Mile Route
Known as the spectacular La Sal Loop, this route rises from the sculptured canyons of the mighty Colorado River into the majestic 12, 271 foot Manti-La Sal mountains outside of Moab. After gradually climbing through Spnaish Valley south of Moab, the elevation begins to ascend for a challenging 3,000 foot climb in seven miles. Nicknamed "The Big Nasty", this climb is broken into 3 main sections offering the rider short breaks in between. An extra AID station and SAG wagon is positioned in this area for extra suport. Once in the mountains the rider is rewarded with a memorable cruise along the graceful contours of this rich, mountain landscape. The descent back to the canyons below leaves the rider in awe of the grand scale of this magical place.
